South American Fur Seal.
Taken at Bristol Zoo.
The exhibit is really nicely laid out and the seals seemed happy with their conditions and are obviously well looked after. I remember watching a program on tv where the keepers were trying to add kelp like plants to their exhibit for mental enrichment.

He was, they did a little talk on the seals and which demonstrated the ways in which they checked their health. I found it amazing they have trained them to open their mouths so the teeth can be looked at.

Even the big cats are often trained to open their mouths so that handlers can check to see if their teeth are in good order. It's a good practice.

Definitely! I felt that way the first time I saw something similar as well, only it was with a rhinoceros. :D
