I still exist

1 min read
Hello everyone.

I am still around. Have become a lurker I guess not being very active at all on here at all. I guess my focus has been elsewhere. Just thought I would mention I am alive and will try and show my face more often. I hope you are all well.

Jobs!!

3 min read
Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I was that active online, however I am seeking to make up for that now I am back at home. The thing is I have just returned form a job working away in Cambridge. I stayed away from home during the week which was quite an experience. The company put me and another girl up in a lovely B&B which was a farmhouse. This meant I learnt to make toast on an aga cooker as well debating how to cook other items that I would normally have no problem with. Most nights we were accompanied in our cooking by two of the residents of the b&b, which were the owner's two dogs. Cooking with a Great Dane and a Dalmatian was an experience but they were both so cute you couldn't help but let them sit in the most inconvenient places. The farm was set in the countryside with horses grazing in the fields surrounding it. I would have liked to explore more but work stopped my wanderings.

One weekend whilst I was there I went into Cambridge and spent a day looking around the city. Ended up there during graduation day for the university, so it was crowded everywhere. It also happened to rain rather badly, seeking shelter we made the mistake of going into a pub where the rugby semi-finals were showing. I should have known this was on as I have been working at Twickenham during the competition. My job was to seek beer to those coming to watch the match. Shifting beer throughout the matches meant I saw very little of the games. I caught the kick off of the opening match and snatches of the action in between. I also happened to be present the day England lost out on the chance of progression. The travelling back afterwards was interesting and meant an overnight detour to Oxford was taken at one point. I have never been so thankful for a 24 hour coach service.

I have also been lapse in updating my photo blog, however I am trying to rectify this with a few more posts in the next few weeks, whilst going back on the job hunt. Feeling a bit more positive now that I have actual employment experience and a bit of money for both that festive time of year and my upcoming adventure to Germany. :)

So I thought I would do this to pass some time this morning, just a little something about me. :)

  • How long have you been on DeviantArt?

Since the 10th January 2007. So 8 years.

  • What does your username mean?

Well it's a combination of a nickname and a date.

  • Describe yourself in three words.

    Neuroscientist, baker, photographer.

  • Are you left or right handed?

    Right handed.

  • What was your first deviation?

It wasn't me... honest by gee231205

  • What is your favourite type of art to create?

My favourite is actually watercolour paintings. However I don't find a lot of time for it, so mostly it is photography,

  • If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?

Well I would love to be a better photographer. But a different style of art, it would have to be textiles. My sewing skills are appalling and I would love to improve them. I mean if you can sew you can fix/ make clothing. I could also make plush toys which are nicer to look at than the ones I have attempted to make before.

  • What was your first favourite?

    dark light by sexypirateprincess

What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?

Columbia River 4 Pic Panorama by Joe-Lynn-Design

<da:thumb id="545788507"/>     Fire sunset Criccieth Castle by louisemorgan   Lamar Bison by ThisWomanWanders    Tiger in metallics by twistedthreads     Gee's Lilac Breasted Roller by missimoinsane

  • Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
I can't actually say I have a favourite. Everyone produces such wonderful work and are so nice and friendly.

  • How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

They encourage me to keep going with things, no matter what. It's nice to have such supportive people around you.

  • What are your preferred tools to create art?

Watercolour paper and paints. Also one of my cameras. Currently a Canon 100D.

  • What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?

Outside, anywhere that I'm surrounded by nature.

  • What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?

Slowly getting to know people and seeing such inspirational work.

3 years on..

2 min read
It's been a strange old three years and it seems to have gone by in a flash. However I have now completed my degree and I will soon by a graduate. This means I will be venturing into the world of work and I'm sending out applications in the hope of securing a job pretty soon.

Through three years I have lived in three different places and experienced the ups and downs of student living. These include mould, poor insulation, olden style sash windows, boiler problems, more mould, bad washing machines, a mushroom growing in the bathroom, landlords and did I mention mould. It seems that would be the bad parts the good parts have included: comfortable beds, cooking at any time of the day, making excellent friends, exploring a new city and learning about my subject.

In those three years I haven't had as much time to be online as I had before. Instead I have taken to instagram as it is easily accessible on my phone. However now I have a little more time to go through deviations, leave comments and upload some of the photos I have taken in the last few years. Photos include holidays, day trips and just general things I spot along the way.

So really I just want to say hello again and watch out for me popping up in your inboxes :)

Finals season

1 min read
Hello all,

I have once again gone missing. Well it is Finals season and I seem to have all my time sucked away from me with revision for the last push of my undergraduate education. 2 more weeks and I will have finished my degree. It seems only yesterday I was posting a journal about leaving school, how time flies. Anyway I will return to comment on wonderful art work. In the mean time I am posting more often on instagram as I can easily access it on my phone before bed.

Hope you are all well and I will return soon, I promise.
